Short Biography
Professor Xiaoming Sun was born in Shandong province in Feb., 1976 and granted his B.S. degree and Ph.D. in Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University in 2000 and 2005, respectively. After postdoctoral work at Stanford University, he joined State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology at 2008 as a full-professor and PhD. Candidate supervisor. He was awarded the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation in 2007 and the Outstanding Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation in 2011. He is currently the executive dean of the College of Energy. His main research interest is separation and assembly of inorganic nanostructures to functional nanomaterials. His recent work focuses on superwetting properties of nanoarray electrodes for gas-involved electrocatalysis.
Professor Xiaoming Sun has co-authored over 200 scientific papers with citation over 24000 times, and he has published 125 journal articles (eg. PNAS, Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Acc. Chem. Res.) as corresponding author, with citation over 10900 times. The H-index of his publications is 46 per SCI data base. He has applied 46 Chinese patents and 22 among them have been granted. Furthermore, he has also applied for 8 international patents. In 2014-2018, he is ranked as a highly cited scholar in the field of materials science by Elsevier Publishing House. In 2015-2017, he is selected as top 1% of China's highly cited scholar by the Royal Society of Chemistry. In 2018, he is ranked as a highly cited scholar by web of science. He was also invited to serve as deputy editor of Science Bulletin and member of the editorial board of international journals such as Nano Research.
